Cali Lemon Lawyers recently filed another lawsuit against Keystone RV Company and Best RV. In Mora v Keystone RV, Stanislaus County Superior Case No CV-22-004855, our client identified defects with her slide out, fender skirts, and front cap. Our client’s coach had the RVIA emblem affixed to the side, right near the entry door. We also alleged that her trailer was not manufactured consistent with the RVIA standards. Our client grew frustrated because no dealership was able to repair the trailer – sound familiar?
Coachmen is manufactured by Forest River. Our clients’ 2020 Coachmen Prism slide outs were unable to fully close. Additionally, our clients could not move their motor home from their home. Holland RV had at least four (4) opportunities to fix the slide out and the other defects, including a water leak, exposed wires, crack in fresh water tank, and interior compartments falling apart.
If you’re having problems getting your motor home, 5thwheel, or travel trailer repaired, and you believe you may have a lemon, our law firm is fully prepared to help you get the compensation you deserve. Contact us now for a free consultation.
RV lemon laws provide protections for consumers who have purchased recreational vehicles (RVs) that turn out to be defective or of poor quality. These laws provide consumers with a legal means to seek compensation from the manufacturer or dealer if their RV fails to meet certain standards of quality and reliability. This can include compensation for repair costs, replacement costs, or other damages.

RV lemon laws generally cover consumers who have purchased a new or used RV from a dealer or manufacturer. In some cases, they may also cover leased RVs.
RV lemon laws generally cover defects that affect the safety, value, or use of the vehicle. This can include mechanical defects, design defects, and defects in materials or workmanship.
If your RV is a lemon, you may be entitled to compensation under your state’s RV lemon law. This can include compensation for repair costs, replacement costs, or other damages. To seek compensation, you will need to file a claim with the manufacturer or dealer and provide evidence of the defect and the attempts to repair it. In some cases, you may need to go to court to pursue your claim.
Some common cases warranting a lemon lawsuit include: defective airbags, molding in the air condition unit, antilock brake failure, transmission failures, body damage, damaged or broken brake pedal causing failure, ineffective or failing seatbelts, malfunctioning electronics and wiring, engine computer not functioning properly, cruise-control malfunctions, engine fire and failure, leaking in the fuel injection system, defects in the fuel line that could create fire and smoke damage, chipping and defective paint, power steering malfunctions, premature wear and tear on the brakes and rotor, steering pull as a result of a malfunction, engine stalling, sudden unintended acceleration.
The exact criteria vary from state to state but new vehicle lemon laws require that a manufacturer repurchase a vehicle that has a cogent defect that the manufacturer is unable to repair within a reasonable timeframe. California lemon laws take into consideration the nature of the problem with your vehicle, the number of days that the vehicle is unavailable due to repairing the reoccurring issue, and the number of times vehicle repair was attempted. The manufacturer could be obligated to buy back the faulty vehicle if the repairs cannot be completed within the total number of days outlined in your state’s laws.
In some cases, you may be able to get your money back if your RV is a lemon. This will depend on the specific laws in your state and the details of your case. In general, you may be entitled to a refund of the purchase price or a replacement vehicle. However, you may need to go to court to seek this type of compensation.
California Lemon Law imposes a four year deadline to file a Lemon Law claim.
The four year limit typically starts from when you first experienced warrantable problems with the RV.
California lemon laws will not protect the buyer of a product purchased without a warranty, like a vehicle purchased “as-is”. However, if you feel you were misled into waiving your warranty then you may still be protected.
Experience the personalized, effective and affordable legal representation that our lemon law firm has to offer.
